At the turn of the 1960s he opened up a furniture store in Borgergade, where he also set up his workshop. He worked here until his death in 1970. The company lives on in the third generation.
Garn had exhibitions at "The Permanent" and "Illums Bolighus" – two highly esteemed places for displaying design in Denmark.

In 2012 Carlo Garn merged with Sorrells Wine Rack and The Traditional Wine Rack Company to form the STC Wine Rack Group.The new management team of:

Have forged three operating divisions within the business:
Sorrells: wine cellar construction for UK, Ireland, Australia, Asia and North America markets.
Carlo Garn: wine cellar construction for Scandinavia, Europe and Asia markets.
The Traditional Wine Rack Company: Retail products for worldwide distribution.
